Farringdon Crossrail Station

Farringdon Crossrail Station

Tapestry Director Elizabeth Reynolds provided Town Planning Advice to Crossrail for the Central London stations of Whitechapel; Farringdon; Tottenham Court Road; Bond Street; and Paddington. Her role was to provide technical advice, stakeholder engagement, project management, and quality assurance services across the new, underground central section of line. This involved liaising with the individual Boroughs along the route and ensuring that conditions and commitments for planning and heritage matters, which were part of the 2008 Crossrail Act, were correctly discharged.

Working client-side, Liz was responsible for monitoring the progress of station works and working with the contractor teams’ own internal planning specialists, to liaise with officers at the various local planning authorities and co-ordinate the required submissions. Works included temporary facade treatments (pending OSD schemes), public realm designs for around the new station entrances, reinstatement of adjacent land that was used for worksites during construction, and ensuring heritage deed commitments were implemented. She was also responsible for negotiating minor design amendments with local authorities on behalf of the contractor teams.
